ADVANCED MANUFACTURING IN THE PLASTICS INDUSTRY

Following a thorough review of the engineering and scientific infrastructure at Shenakr, the Council for Higher Education accredited and approved the opening of the Plastic Engineering M.Sc. Research Program.

In 2010, an agreement was signed with the University of Massachusetts in Lowell (UML) to open a joint program for advanced studies in Plastics Engineering.

The Technion’s Academic program “Seeds of Innovation 4.0” promotes innovation in the field and aims to increase productivity through digital transformation and the assimilation of advanced production technologies in Plastic and Rubber companies.

The Israel Innovation Authority encourages Advanced Manufacturing in general, and in the plastics industry in particular. It invests in startup companies, offers assistance in establishing multinational projects and promotes innovation in traditional companies. An Advanced Manufacturing innovation lab was established in 2017 in order to promote ecosystem growth and cooperation between industry, entrepreneurs and academia.

The Annual Exhibition for Subcontracting in the Metal, Plastic & Rubber Industry is a professional exhibition for the subcontracting industry. The exhibition promotes collaboration between key players in the industry, and allows them to develop and maintain business partnerships, expand their activities into new markets, find solutions for problems and remain updated with the latest development and technological innovations in the industry.

The Israel Defense Forces and Ministry of Defense work closely and continuously to design and manufacture plastic parts for the defense market.
